Radio Udaan’s Deconstructing Accessibility Explores the Real Meaning of Inclusive Design
Radio Udaan, in collaboration with AccessAlly, an initiative of Enable Me Access (EMA), continues its podcast series Deconstructing Accessibility is bringing together experts to challenge common misconceptions and promote inclusive design in India.
The first three episodes of the series explore some of the most important questions around accessibility. The opening episode, featuring Anubha Singhal, highlights why accessibility is not just about disability but benefits everyone from older adults and parents with strollers to people with temporary injuries. It emphasizes that accessible design is essential for an inclusive society.
The second episode, featuring Kavya Mukhija and Ar. Pooja Talati, challenges the widespread belief that installing a ramp alone makes a space accessible. The discussion focuses on universal design, accessibility audits, and the importance of creating environments that are functional and welcoming for all.
In the third episode, Anubha Singhal and Manika Bhalotia examine why hospitals are often more difficult to navigate than airports. The conversation explores the role of clear signage, wayfinding systems, and user-centric design in improving patient experiences and making healthcare facilities more accessible.
Hosted by Danish Mahajan, Deconstructing Accessibility aims to raise awareness about accessibility, encourage evidence-based discussions, and inspire the next generation of accessibility professionals working towards a more inclusive India.
New episodes premiere is on every Sunday at 9:00 PM, exclusively on Radio Udaan.
